community survey lesson
Global issues are complex, and there is rarely one best way to address them. Local contexts and cultures impact which solutions people need or find appropriate. In this activity, students consider the value of gathering different perspectives to address global issues. They learn how seeking diverse perspectives can help them draw conclusions and develop ideas that are equitable, sustainable, and capable of driving long-term impact.
global issues dialogue
As we grow up, we often encounter an ever-wider range of perspectives. These encounters shape how we think about the world and can challenge our existing ideas about global issues. When this happens, it can be difficult to communicate with curiosity and respect. In this activity, students learn to participate in respectful dialogue about a global issue. They actively consider their peers’ perspectives and refine their own ideas based on what they learn.
responding to new ideas
Students expand their understanding of the world by communicating with peers from different places and cultures. At times, they may feel surprised or even uncomfortable when they encounter new or unfamiliar ideas. In this activity, students practice responding to new ideas with curiosity and respect.
